Parking and Garage

The historic center of Florence is very small and you can walk through it in about 20 minutes. 

Arriving by train is the best choice! ACCOMMODATION IS IN THE HISTORIC CENTER

IF YOU ARRIVE BY CAR you should know that:

Florence has 2 RING AREAS with LIMITED TRAFFIC. The areas are protected by a system of telematic gates with cameras for the control of plates (offenders are fined)

The outer ring called “Scudo verde” (Green Shield) a huge area with limited traffic environment to block entry to older and polluting vehicles. 

• From 1 April 2025 it is in pre-operation phase: the gates work but no fines are received. 
  
• From 1 June 2025, the active phase begins: those who violate the rules will be sanctioned.

They cannot enter:

• Petrol Euro 0-1
  
• Diesel Euro 0-1
  
• Mopeds and motorcycles 2-stroke Euro 0-1
  

Entry is open to:

• Car petrol Euro 2 or above
  
• Diesel car Euro 2 or above
  
• Hybrid, electric, LPG or methane vehicles
  
• Historic vehicles with Certificate of Historical Significance (CRS)
  

The inner ring “ZTL centro storico” is an area corresponding to the city center where cars have access limits. It is possible to enter only if you go to a paid parking (MANDATORY). The garage will carry out the registration of your car to obtain the authorization to validate your presence at the police. If you enter ZTL without going to a garage, you will receive the fine at home!

IF ARRIVING BY CAR You can choose to park:

• in the centre (ZTL)
  
• out of the city centre
  
• in the nearby town (Scandicci).

CENTRO CITTA’ – ZTL The garages are more expensive but certainly comfortable because you can easily get to the accommodation and unload the suitcases. 

Entering the city center you will pass through with a camera and your license plate will be photographed. It is MANDATORY to reach a paid garage to carry out the registration of your car and validate your presence at the police. If you enter ZTL without going to a garage, you will receive the fine at home!

• GARAGE ITALIA Via Fiesolana, 19, 50122 Firenze FI – Tel. 039 3270178012 – The cost is 30 € per day for customers of LA DIVINA DIMORA (caravans and large cars have different prices). When you are sure of your arrival time book by calling. Inform that you are staying at La Divina Dimora.
  
• CITY PARKING FIESOLANA Via Fiesolana, 17, 50122 Firenze FI – Tel. 039 366 571 6947 – Here the car is received and moved to another space.

OUTSIDE the ZTL area a little cheaper but further away, you will have to transport your suitcases from the parking lot to the accommodation by walking or taking a taxi.

Communal garages (daily rates €15/€20):

• PARKING FORTEZZA about 26 minutes (2.1 km)
• PARTERRE PARKING about 22 minutes walk (1.8 km)

OUTSIDE the city of FLORENCE (Scandicci), is the cheapest alternative (about €7 per day). 

PARKING OF VILLA COSTANZA Access from the A1 motorway between the exits of Florence/ Scandicci and Florence/ Impruneta and you can stay all day for a maximum of 30 consecutive days. From the car park with an urban train (TRAMVIA T1) in just 22 minutes you will arrive at Santa Maria Novella station, in the heart of the city (ticket cost €1.70).
