FLORENCE VIEWS:

You can enjoy the panoramic views of Florence from various locations, many of which are particularly beautiful at sunset, allowing you to appreciate the scenery both during the day and at night.

Here are some suggestions:

PIAZZALE MICHELANGELO: It is the most famous viewpoint in Florence. From your accommodation, you can reach it on foot in about 40 minutes (20 downhill, 20 uphill).

If you prefer, not far from your accommodation, you can take bus number 13, which will take you directly to the square. The stop is “Gramsci Porta alla Croce,” near Piazza Beccaria.

If you are in the area of Piazza Stazione, you can go to the “Scalette” stop and take Bus 12, which will take you to the square.

CHURCH OF SAN MINIATO A MONTE: It is located just above Piazzale Michelangelo. By climbing a long staircase, you will reach the square in front of the church of San Miniato a Monte. The church itself is also very beautiful.

You can take the same bus that goes to Piazzale Michelangelo (bus 12 or 13).

ROSE GARDEN: The entrance is on the left side of Piazzale Michelangelo. It is a free garden with many varieties of roses and sculptures by Jean-Michel Folon.

FORTE BELVEDERE: It is located behind the Boboli Gardens of Palazzo Pitti.

VILLA BARDINI WITH GARDEN: It is located near Forte Belvedere. During the period of April/May, the panorama is colored by beautiful Japanese Wisteria floribunda in a 70-meter long and 4.6-meter wide tunnel.

FIESOLE: It is a hilltop town above Florence, reachable by bus 7 from Piazza Stazione at the corner of Via Nazionale.

WINE WINDOWS: This is a typical Florentine custom. The “wine windows” are small windows (now closed) on the facades of many buildings, through which Florentines bought wine from wealthy families who owned vineyards. Each one has a different shape.

If you want to try buying a glass of wine from a window in Florence, there are still 2 active ones.
